Neuro-Feedback theory suggests that the brain will recognize this 2Hz frequency as being associated with deep sleep, and will in tern, induce this state.įor this sound, we additionally added brownian noise to smooth over the dry tones. This 2Hz difference intertwines inside the listener's brain which scientists believe causes it to synchronize with this 2Hz frequency. For instance, in this case, 53Hz and 55Hz, which has a difference of 2Hz, a Delta band frequency associated with deep sleep. Binaural Beats attempts to promote the creation of these brainwave frequencies by playing two different audible tones with a difference of the desired frequency, one in each ear of headphones. These are frequencies well below human hearing (20Hz), so we need to "trick" the brain into being able to perceive cycles that low.
